Good take on Zero Tolerance. Zero Tolerance and the War on Terrorism. Zero tolerance was the fad of the 90s to clean up our schools and restore discipline. Its no-nonsense approach to dealing with policy violators was supposed to make students think twice about breaking any rule. Not only has it been a failure, it has been disastrous. Indeed, zero-tolerance policies have not made our schools safe or whatever other sound-byte rhetoric was espoused in its favor.
