The USS Shoup is to be commissioned soon.  General David M. Shoup won the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions as a Marine officer during World War II.  He later served as Commandant of the Marine Corps.  General Shoup is from my hometown of Covington, Indiana.  [Defenselink News]
