I know the answer.  Do you?

geek check. Here’s a new geek check for you. Read through the following text and try to determine the historic event it describes (ok it only describes a very small piece of the event, but I’m confident that you’ll figure it out). Peter Yee at NASA Ames Research Center posts a warning to the TCP-IP mailing list: “We are currently under attack from an Internet VIRUS. It has hit UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, Lawrence Livermore, Stanford, and NASA Ames.” He suggests turning off telnet, ftp, finger, rsh and SMTP services. He does not mention rexec. Yee is actually at Berkeley working with Keith Bostic, Mike Karels and Phil Lapsley.
