And then…

What do we do when he doesn’t let the inspectors back in?

We goto war, with the world.  Bush’s speech yesterday, if anything, set the groundwork for that to happen.  The world will go with us.  And it will be the right thing to do.

“thinkusaalignright”Lance asks why there is no debate on war in Iraq in the US. Good question. I’ll do my part. I’m in the US. I am against the US going to war with Iraq. Saddam has had chemical and biological weapons for a long time. Nothing new there. The US apparently doesn’t believe he has nuclear weapons, but even if he does, or if he gets them, he’s about as likely to use them as India and Pakistan were in their war earlier this year. In the end the same balance that applied betw the US and the Soviet Union and China in previous decades applies in Central Asia. Nuclear weapons are not tactical devices, they are strategic. They are only useful as potential weapons. They say Saddam is a madman. I don’t think he’s so crazy as to use nuclear weapons. My hope is that this war talk is just posturing to get the inspectors back in, which of course would be a good thing. [Scripting News]

Fuck ’em

by Bryan Strawser · Sep 11, 2002

I paused the work blog for a bit due to some concerns I have had with certain users (of course, all hits and attempts are logged by IP address, so I know who’s visiting from where at all times), but I believe, in discussion with my colleagues, that there is nothing with which I should be concerned. So, let the blogging continue. [Kerri Hicks’ Work Blog]

Ain’t Crap in Connecticut

by Bryan Strawser · Sep 11, 2002

You got it.  There ain’t shit going on in Connecticut.  There’s a semi-decent sushi place in Manchester that I goto sometimes, and I do like the folks I work with in Connecticut, and there’s some pretty scenery for my drive, but otherwise there isn’t a whole hell of a lot going on there.

That’s just too much…

by Bryan Strawser · Sep 10, 2002

Senator Hillary Clinton was booed when she walked on stage last October at a rock concert in Madison Square Garden to benefit 9/11 victims. It was shown live by VH1 but, when the Viacom-owned cable channel replayed it sound technicians replaced the booing with cheering and applause. And that version is the permanent record VH1 put onto its DVD of the event. [via InstaPundit] [Adam Curry: Adam Curry’s Weblog]

Pretty fascinating reading…

The whole “secret” FISA court thing is pretty wild…

Secret appellate court meets for the first time ever. Secret appellate court meets for the first time ever: Well it’s technically not an appellate court; rather, it is a court of “review.” But, in any event, The New York Times is reporting that the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review met yesterday in Washington, DC for the first time ever (which is why, not surprisingly, the federal government’s brief bears docket number 02-001).
