The State of the Union:
Pre-Speech
Ted Kennedy is still a fatass, apparantly Bush is going to refer to him as “my friend”. Interesting. He’s a Communist in disguise.
Hey look, Cheney is out of his cave! Cooooool. I like Cheney.
The Premier of Afganistan just entered and received a standing ovation. He has a seriously funky cool outfit on. And there’s the First Lady.
Interesting that press coverage of the State of the Union, which usually starts right before the President enters, tonight is showing the entrance of almost everyone of any importance.
The President’s Cabinet just entered. I was listening to Don Imus this morning where Tim Russert was a guest. Tim stated that Bush has made it clear that he enjoys having divergent views in his cabinet.. Colin Powell doesn’t always agree with Don Rumsfeld, neither of them always agree with Condi Rice, the National Security Advisor, and so on. Divergent views are good!
Mr. Speaker, The President of the United States
Great strong start… the ongoing applause is going to bug me…
The Terrorists who once occupied a country, now occupy cells in Gitmo.. they are now running for their own lives [sic]
Nice standing ovation for Harmed Karzai, good introduction from Bush.
Our success is due.. to the might of the United States Military. The men and women of our armed forces have delivered a message clear to our enemy.. on mountaintops and in caves.. you will not escape the justice of this nation.
Maybe it’s just me, but the constant recognition of people from the gallery bugs me. Maybe it’s because Clinton did most of this and did it constantly, but it’s still somewhat irritating. I like to watch the speech, not the other stuff 🙂
Depth of their hatred.. videos where they laugh at the loss of life
Found diagrams of nuclear plants and public water facilities, key landmarks throughout the world.. far from ending, our war against terror is only beginning.
19 men were trained in camps and attacked on september 11th, tens of thousands of others are spread throughout the world like ticking time bombs, set to go off without warning. Hundreds have been arrested, but tens of thousands.. are still at large.
The entire world is the battlefield.. we must pursue them wherever they are…
Objectives.. 1) we will shutdown camps, disrupts plans, bring to justice.. 2) prevent terorrists and regimes from.. threating the United States, and the world….
Camps still exist in at least a dozen countries. Many of them appear to be Islamic, this could be interesting problem with our allies in the Middle East. Saudi dropped a warning on us today about our recent comments on Arafat.
Terrorist Parasites.. speak it! speak it! Call it for what it is.
Jesse Helms can’t clap, damn…
Some nations will be timid, they will not act… If they do not act, America will.. Call it the Bush Doctrine, but it’s somethign right out of a Clancy novel..and I like it. We’ve been far too timid for so long….
Just singled out North Korea and Iran as potential issues, as well as Iraq..
Serious discussion about Iraq, could they be our next target?
We will do what is necessary to protect our country.. I will not wait on events.. We will not permit the world’s most dangerous regimes to threaten us…
It has only begun.. it may not be finished on our watch.. but it will be waged on our watch… if we stop now.. our sense of security would be false.
I agree with him. I already see things dropping off in our mindset.. we’re already getting a bit soft, no one is paranoid anymore.. we need to be.. we need to be think
