Headed back

by Bryan Strawser · Jul 2, 2003

Just pulled out of Amtrak’s Penn Station on Train #94, heading back to Providence after four days in NYC.

Went on the NBC Studio Tour today which was pretty slick – I had no idea how small some of the sets were — highly recommended for anyone that hasn’t done it before.

We happened to catch the end of the today show doing a broadcast near where we were standing at Rockefeller Center — Ann Curry and Al Roker walked by us about fifteen feet away from where we were standing – got some great photographs. Ann had some serious high heels on. Alot of people staring and groping at both of them as they went by. Not quite the security presence that i was really expecting to see, but pretty neat over all.

Shot nearly 170 pictures that I’m keeping, so should be fun to fiddle with them in iPhoto and see what I can turn out.

by Bryan Strawser · Jun 30, 2003

Long Day in NYC. Saw Ellis Island, Ground Zero, City Hall, Macy’s Herard Square, and then back to our hotel near Times Square. Dinner at Rosie O’Grady’s. Some tasty stuff.

Pictures coming soon.

Finally got around to installing moveable type for the first time on my powerbook as a test. Appears to work great. I have some ideas on how to use it for some internal stuff central to Gondolin that we’ll probably fiddle with down the road.

NYC, Here We Come!

by Bryan Strawser · Jun 29, 2003

Off to NYC with my parents. First time there for my mom, first time back for my dad since he was 18. Ellis Island, Wall Street, Lower Manhattan, Times Square. Should be a fun trip. Watch for photos.

On Reading

by Bryan Strawser · Jun 27, 2003

Sir Francis Bacon. “Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention.” [Motivational Quotes of the Day]
