More Details on Dave Winer…

Here is an update on my friend and boss Dave Winer.   He is in the hospital and will remain there until next weekend.   To those that are sending notes, he should be OK, but in the meantime send positive healing thoughts in his direction.  He will be providing more details when he is able. The Story of the T-1 –

by Bryan Strawser · Jun 16, 2002

The Story of the T-1 – I recently obtained a T-1 line into my home in order to move my servers and infrastructure for my websites and those of my friends into the house and out of colocation.  This is my breakdown of how I approached this.  Pictures included!

A little Dido… My tea’s

by Bryan Strawser · Jun 16, 2002

A little Dido…

My tea’s gone cold, I’m wondering why I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window and I can’t see at all
And even if I could it’d all be grey, but your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad

I drank too much last night, got bills to pay, my head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there’ll be hell today, I’m late for work again
And even if I’m there, they’ll all imply that I might not last the day
And then you call me and it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad and

I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life

Push the door I’m home at last and I’m soaking through and through
Then you handed me a towel and all I see is you
And even if my house falls down now, I wouldn’t have a clue
Because you’re near me and

I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life

And now for some tea…

Trying a new format.  I’m

by Bryan Strawser · Jun 16, 2002

Trying a new format.  I’m transitioning to a new blog format today, attempting the indentation of “quoted” blog posts and adding my content to the top.  We’ll see if I like this or not….

Why is it always South

by Bryan Strawser · Jun 16, 2002

Why is it always South Carolina?  The concept of nullification and seccession started there.  The civil war started there.  Now they’re picking a fight with the federal government over plutonium.  This will be interesting to watch.  My bet is with the feds, call them 4-1.

South Carolina Bans Plutonium. The US Dept Of Energy is currently planning a shipment of plutonium from a soon-to-beclosed up weapons plant in Colorodo to a weapons complex in South Carolina, for use in a nuclear power plant. SC Governer Jim Hodges, saying a “danger exists” to the state, and issued an executive order banning transport of plutonium on roads in the state, effectively banning plutonium from entering the state. Prior to this order, last Thursday (June 13), federal judge denied the state’s request to block the shipment. The shipment was originally scheduled for May 15, but the lawsuit seeking to block took priority over the shipment. [kuro5hin.org]
