Besides the pouring rain, the movie rocked!

Muffy is also joining the blogging ranks. Or at least the ranks of those that have their own website. I’m still waiting for her to figure out the technical issues though 🙂

You gotta pump it while you can…

The last few articles on Russell Beattie’s weblog have been outstanding. I just sent him an email of compliments, but then realized I should do it here too. [Scripting News]

I only worked in law enforcement for a bit under eighteen months. During that time alone, Indiana lost six police officers in the line of duty, including a State Trooper that I had the honor of knowing.

I happened to be surfing the web today and discovered the homepage of the Vermillion County (Illinois) Sheriff’s Department. They were across the state line in Illinois from my Indiana department, and we had occasion to work with them from time to time.

My horror came when I looked at their fallen heroes page to discover that Sergeant Myron Deckard had been killed in June 2001 while transporting a prisoner back to Vermillion County.

Myron was a gruff man with a direct demeanor and a good sense of humor. I only interacted with him on a couple occasions on the job, and enjoyed hearing his fugitive investigation stories. He will be sadly missed.

Rest in Peace, Myron.

Finally went there – for a party no less. Cooked out in the rain, had a good time.

Glad to be home though.
